A Strood man has been charged with four offences after a car ended up in a ditch in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Sean William Joseph Green, of Seagull Road, Strood was arrested at the scene of a road traffic accident on Ratcliffe Highway, in Hoo, at around 1am.

A spokesman for Kent Police said officers were called to the scene after receiving a report of a car in a ditch on its side.

The 45-year-old was taken to Medway Police Station and subsequently charged with four alleged offences: drink driving; aggravated vehicle taking; driving without a licence and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 14.

A spokesman for Kent Police said no-one appeared to be injured in the crash.
