A section of the A2 was closed off this morning after an accident involving a motorcyclist and car.

Emergency crews were sent to High Street, Rainham, at around 8am.

It is believed the biker was injured as he tried to turn into the Asda petrol station.

A fire engine, fire service car, ambulance and paramedic car were sent to the scene.

An ambulance spokesman said the biker had been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
