A woman has been airlifted to hospital after falling in Rainham High Street.

She was badly injured as a result of the accident, which happened near Cricketers Inn just before 3pm.

An air ambulance was called and witnesses said it landed in a field opposite the Meredale School in Solomon Road.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the woman was airlifted to a London hospital."
