Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash in a country lane.

Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to Shawstead Road, Chatham, just after 1pm.

Police say a car had left the road and the woman was treated at the scene.

She was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital but her injuries are not described as life-threatening and she has since been discharged.

The fire service also attended the incident, which saw the road closed in both directions.

A man was also hurt and remains in hospital but with non-life threatening injuries.
