A woman who was found dead in a basement died as a result of her alcoholism, an inquest heard.
Vickie Foster, 41, was found in a cellar by Parr Head Mews, off Corporation Street, Rochester, on Friday, June 29, last year.
At an inquest into her death at Archbishop’s Palace in Maidstone last Wednesday, evidence was heard detailing how Ms Foster was dependent on alcohol and drugs.
She had no fixed address for three years prior to her death, and no job.
She was born in Maidstone and is thought to have been staying in Sheerness before her death.
One of the occupants of the flats where she was found alerted his neighbours who called an ambulance.
Results from a post-mortem carried out by Dr Ben Swift said she was one and a half times the drink-drive limit, and blood samples presented a level of cocaine which was “not generally considered a fatal level”.
A statement was also given by a Kent Police officer, who said that their investigation lead them to determine that her death was not suspicious, and there was no trauma to her body.

A friend, who she had been living rough with, told police Ms Foster had been dependent on alcohol prior to her death,
Recording a verdict of alcohol-related death coroner Sonia Hayes said: “Her cause of death was Sudden Unexpected Death in Alcohol Misuse.
“She consumed alcohol and cocaine and suffered sudden arrhythmia.”
