Plans for a brewery tap room are a step closer, with Gravesham and Medway council set to decide on the business' premises licence.
The Moot Brew Co announced plans earlier this year for their watering hole at Court Farm, Upper Halling, which is already home to a butchery and farm shop selling local produce.
Formed by six friends, the company aims to convert an old barn to brew their own craft beers, while the tap room should provide a sociable spot for beer lovers and North Downs walkers in need of refreshment.
Company director Patrick Smith, who lives in the village, told KentOnline the tap room would feature community tables and a relaxed environment.
He added: "We would encourage socalisation, community engagement and offer beer styles, tastes and ingredients that you may not experience elsewhere.
"A tap room is meant to offer an experience in tasting site-brewed beer that excites and engages beer lovers and non-beer lovers alike."
There are plans to introduce a fortnightly farmers' market on site.
The licence application has been made to Medway and Gravesham Council Licensing Partnership, and full details can be viewed at Civic Centre, Windmill Street, Gravesend, Kent DA12 1AU during normal hours of business.
Any interested party who wishes to make a representation about the application should do so in writing to Medway and Gravesham Council Licensing Partnership Civic Centre, Windmill Street, Gravesend Kent DA12 1AU, or by sending an email to licensing@gravesham.gov.uk no later than May 23.
