Firefighters had to rescue people from a lift at a shopping centre yesterday.

Crews were called to Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre in Gillingham just after 4pm to find 16 people stuck in a lift.

Using a specialist lift key they got the doors open within 20 minutes.
