North Dane Way in Lordswood, Chatham, blocked after serious crash sees two taken to hospital

An air ambulance has been called out and two people taken to hospital following an incident involving six vehicles.

A crash between four cars, one van and one motorbike in North Dane Way in Lordswood, Chatham has caused both directions of the road to be blocked.

An air ambulance has been called following a serious incident in Lordswood, Chatham.

The road is also closed at the Luton Road end of the street.

There is queuing traffic between Princes Avenue and Capstone Road.

One air ambulance has been confirmed at the scene.

However residents reported that two have flown over the area.

Two fire engines have though confirmed to have attended, where firefighters used a number of cutting tools to assist ambulance crew in freeing a person trapped in a vehicle.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “One man has been taken to hospital with minor injuries, while another man has been taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.

“The road remains closed between Princes Avenue and Capstone Road and an investigation into the circumstances is underway.”

It is not yet known the extent of any injuries.

South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
