Gillingham: Air ambulance lands in car park at the Strand

A man was flown to a London hospital with a serious head injury after falling from a boat in a dry dock.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the riverside in Gillingham yesterday afternoon.
A spokesman confirmed today, that the man had fallen from a boat in a dry dock in Gillingham Marina.

The helicopter was seen landing in the car park at The Strand in Pier Road at 4.40pm.
An eyewitness also reported seeing ambulances parked up with their lights flashing, as well as a police car.
The man was flown to King's College Hospital, London where he was seen by the specialist neurological unit.
An ambulance service spokesman said they were called at around 4.20pm.
He added: "Ambulance crews attended the scene and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.
"The man was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital with injuries including a head injury."
A police spokesman said they were called to reports of a man who had sustained a serious injury and officers attended the scene to help with the landing of the air ambulance and conduct initial enquiries.
