The air ambulance has been called to a young girl who was hit by a car in Chatham this evening.

Police were called to Maidstone Road at 5.25pm to reports a young girl had been hit by a vehicle and suffered a head injury.

Officers confirmed an air ambulance was called to the scene.

Police closed the road and officers remained at the scene until around 7.15pm.
