Bunnies Blossom and Teddy, and black and white cat, Lola, are in need of a forever home - can you help?
At the moment they are being cared for by volunteers from Anim-Mates, a pet rescue charity based in St Mary Hoo, but are looking for a loving, permanent, place to stay.
Blossom and Teddy are only be 10 months old, but they have already had two litters of baby rabbits.
However, their breeding days have ended and they are now looking for a new home.
Because they weren’t neutered their owner had kept them apart. When she was out one day her young children thought it would be a good idea to let the then 16-week-old rabbits play together. A month later Blossom gave birth to her first litter.
Unfortunately, four months later Blossom and Teddy managed to get together again, which resulted in a further unwanted litter.
Following a desperate call from their owner, who said she couldn’t cope with so many rabbits, Blossom and Teddy and their latest litter are now in the care of Anim-Mates.
Fosterer Lisa Inns said: “When they arrived at our sanctuary we ensured they could no longer breed by having them neutered.
“At our sanctuary they live in a spacious hutch with a very large run, so we must find them a home where they can continue to enjoy plenty of space.”
Fosterer Bobbie Bajwa said: “Lola gave birth to three kittens in March. Her owner found loving homes for two of the kittens and decided to keep one.
“Lola eventually rejected this kitten and became aggressive towards him. Her owner has now decided the kindest thing for Lola would be to find her a new home where she can be the only cat and have a fresh start.”
