Police are appealing for information after shop worker was allegedly threatened at gun point in Post Office robbery, Bush Road, Cuxton

A shop worker threatened at gun point was tied up as robbers made of with £25,000, it is alleged.

Police have renewed their appeal for information after a reported armed robbery at a Post Office in Cuxton in December.

Officers were called to the shop in Bush Road at 8.13am on Saturday December 20 after two men had reportedly demanded money and threatened a staff member with what appeared to be a gun.

The worker was tied up during the incident and received minor injuries.

Police have reissued an efit image of one man they are trying to trace.

The men left the area on foot with a large quantity of cash, reported to be up to £25,000.

Both suspects are described as white men, aged between 25 and 30, of medium build, and were wearing dark clothing.

Police have released this e-fit of a man they think can assist with the investigation into the armed robbery in Cuxton

DC Scott Winteridge, investigating, said: "Please take a close look at the man in the efit image and call us if you recognise him. He is described as having dark eyes and stubble, and wore a black woollen hat.

"Thank you to everyone who has contacted us with information about this incident.

"Detectives have followed a number of lines of enquiries and investigations are still ongoing to identify the suspects and establish the circumstances of this incident.

"I would encourage those who were in the area at the time of the incident and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact police."
