Charlie Paul Elliott charged for dangerous driving following a car chase in Robin Hood Lane, Walderslade, Chatham

A man has been charged with dangerous driving following a police chase.

Officers were following a suspicious vehicle when they came across the scene of a collision in Robin Hood Lane at around 1.30pm.

They stopped at the scene to assist and subsequently arrested a 19-year-old man, from London, on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to supply, criminal damage and possessing herbal cannabis.

He has been bailed until 29 September pending further inquiries.

Police later arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the vehicle they had initially followed.

On Monday afternoon officers were joined by South East Coast Ambulance paramedics at the scene of the crash, with two ambulances. Nobody at the scene needed hospital treatment.

A police spokesman said on Monday: “They stopped at the scene of the collision, where they supported by crews from Secamb.

“A man was subsequently arrested and there are no reports of any serious injuries.

“Police were also able to relocate the vehicle officers were originally pursuing and arrested its driver.”
