A baby who fell from the window of a fourth-storey flat has been discharged from hospital.

The young boy, who is thought to be around 12-months old, fell from the property in Station Road, Rainham, on Monday, May 25.

The child fell from the top floor of flats in Station Road, Rainham

He was taken to a London hospital by the air ambulance with serious injuries but has since been allowed to leave.

It happened at flats above a parade of shops in Station Road at the junction with Childscroft Road.

One man, who asked to remain anonymous, was chatting to a friend when he heard the youngster hit the floor.

He said: "I heard a loud thud behind me and turned round to see this baby laying motionless on the floor.

"It was a shock to see and we began shouting up at the flats, trying to get the parents' attention. The father popped his head out the window and went into a sheer panic and ran downstairs."

No arrests were made by police, who were called to the incident.

It is the second time a child has fallen from a window in the same block of flats. A baby fell from a lower floor in 2014.
