A man’s body has been found near a cinema under a motorway bridge.
Officers were called to Chariot Way in Strood, next to the M2 bridge, this morning to concerns for a person’s welfare.
A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 6.41am on Tuesday.
“Officers attended the scene with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man in his 20s was confirmed deceased.
“His death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report will be completed for the coroner.”
The man’s next of kin have been informed.
Work on a new safety barrier on the bridge was only finished last week after the foot and cycle path was closed for a while.
A National Highways spokesman explained: “There’s still some minor work we need to carry out to finish our improvements so you may still notice us working on and around the bridge.”
