Seven year-old boy taken to Medway Maritime Hospital after paramedics were called to Deanwood Drive, Parkwood

A young boy was taken to hospital after hitting his head on a pole in Rainham yesterday evening (Tuesday).

The seven-year-old who has not been named, suffered a head injury while he was playing out near to Deanwood Drive, in Parkwood, shortly after 7pm.

Paramedics were called out to help the youngster and initially treated him at the scene before taking him to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham for further treatment.

An ambulance was called to Deanwood Drive, in Parkwood.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAS) added: “We were called shortly after 7.20pm on July 21 to reports a boy had suffered a head injury.

“One ambulance crew attended the scene and the boy was assessed and treated before being taken to hospital.

“He was reported has having hit his head on a pole.”
