The Brook, Chatham, closed by police after ambulance crash

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital following an accident involving an ambulance.
Police have cordoned off The Brook in Chatham, after the crash just before noon.
There were three ambulances and two incident response units at the scene, next to Halfords.
A witness said one of the incident response units was involved in the crash and had damage to the front of the vehicle.
A car at the scene was also damaged and there was debris on the road.
The Inrix traffic report says The Brook was closed in both directions between Queen Street and King Street.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 11.49am to a collision involving a car and an ambulance in The Brook, Chatham.
"Officers are in attendance and a woman has been taken to a London hospital for treatment.
"Road closures are currently in place while enquiries at the scene continue."
A South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) spokesman: “SECAmb can confirm that one of its ambulances was involved in a road traffic collision with a car in The Brook, Chatham shortly after 11.45am. The vehicle was en route to a nearby incident at the time of the collision.
“Ambulance crews attended the scene and the two occupants of the car were assessed and treated before being taken to hospital.
"A woman has been taken to Kings College Hospital and a man, in a less serious condition, has been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
"The ambulance crew were shaken but uninjured.”
