High voltage cable fault causes power cut for 3430 homes in Walderslade

More than 3000 homes have been affected by a power cut following an electrical fault in Walderslade.

UK Power Networks say 3430 customers were affected by the power cut this afternoon, and are working to restore the supply.

They say the power cut is due to a fault with an underground electricity cable in their high voltage network.

The company apologised for the disruption and estimated power would be restored to all customers between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

A message to customers said engineers believed power was restored to all homes at around 5.45pm, but the company urged anyone without power to call them on 0800 3163105.
