Car crashes on the Wainscott bypass, off the M2 for Strood

A central reservation was damaged this morning after a car collided with it.

It happened on the Wainscott bypass, just off the M2 for Strood.

Police were called at 10.19am following reports of a single vehicle collision.

They remain at the scene, but say no serious injuries have been reported.

The road was not closed as the vehicle did not cause any obstruction.

A spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was called at 10.19am to a single vehicle collision on the Wainscott bypass, heading towards Gillingham.

"Officers are in attendance and no serious injuries have been reported.

"A central reservation barrier is reported to have been damaged and the relevant highways authority has been informed."
