Car collides with traffic lights on Chatham Hill

A road was closed in the early hours of this morning after a car collided with a set of traffic lights.

The crash happened at the bottom of Chatham Hill, Chatham, near the Luton Arches.

Police were called at 12.47am, and a man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed until about 3.15am in order for debris to be cleared and repairs carried out.

A 38-year-old man from Herne Bay was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, but later released without charge.
