Tom Dallas will take a giant step toward a heavyweight title shot if he can beat Russian Daniil Peretyatko on Friday night.

Dallas, who is eyeing the Southern Area belt, has so far cruised to 10 straight wins and enters the ring at the Brentwood Centre for his last six-round contest.

Not since his first two pro contests has ‘The Bomb’ Dallas been taken the distance – then at four rounds – but Peretyatko could be a tricky fighter to budge.

Peretyatko recently took stablemate David Price the distance, before losing on points.

"I saw the fight and I know he can take some good shots," said Dallas.

"Dave told me he’s got a hard head, so I’ll be putting on extra bandages. He said that every time he hit him with his right hand it hurt!

"He’s tough but I’m going to try and stop him. He’s only 6’1 (Dallas is 6’6) but he’s 18 stone and is a big lump and I can’t see me finishing him off early."

Dallas is on the undercard of the Tyson Fury versus John McDermott clash, with the English title being defended by Fury and the bout doubling as an eliminator for the British crown.

Chatham fighter Dallas hopes for a shot at the Southern title soon and has been doing plenty of sessions in the gym with McDermott as the pair prepare for big nights of their own.

"Over the last two months I’ve probably done over 100 rounds with him," said Dallas.

"He’s hit me loads of times, we don’t go in tip-tapping around, we have a fight. We might not be hitting as hard as we can but it’s good sparring.

"I’ve been doing eight rounds and so I know that I can do six at a good pace. Everyone says I haven’t done many but I know I can go the distance if I need to."
