Kevin Watson has called on the help of former boss Neil Cugley to try to plot Eastbourne Town’s downfall in the FA Trophy.
The Chatham player-manager takes charge of his first tie in the competition when the club travel to Sussex on Saturday in the preliminary round.
Ryman League Division 1 South side Eastbourne drew 1-1 at Folkestone on Wednesday night, and Watson (pictured) admitted: "We didn’t have anybody there, but I trust Neil’s judgement, so will give him a call and get his thoughts on them."
Chatham are looking for a boost in form after three successive Division 1 North defeats.
Watson described the 3-0 home reverse against Romford on Tuesday night as "our worst performance of the season."
He said: "We were poor both defensively and on the ball.
"Nobody performed anywhere near the standard they should, and it was very disappointing.
"Let’s hope the boys get it out of their systems quickly."
Chatham striker Rob Denness missed the game with a badly bruised foot.
