Chatham Town have their sights set on a top-half finish in Ryman League Division 1 North this season.

The Chats ended a four-game winless sequence and a run of five straight defeats on the road with a 1-0 triumph at Heybridge last Saturday to go 14th.

They return home looking to start a new unbeaten run, with three consecutive home games against teams in the bottom seven, and two in four days against teams in the bottom three.

They host second-bottom Ware tomorrow (Saturday) who have won just four of their 31 games, before the visit of Great Wakering on Tuesday.

Assistant manager Keith Levett said: "If you look at the next few games we have a good opportunity to put some points on the board.

"Levett warned that Ware would be tough opponents following a 2-2 draw in Hertfordshire in November.

He said: "They are going to be battling and they were not a bad team by any means when we played them before.

"They have picked up and we’re going to have to be on our game and up for the challenge if we are to win."

Levett reported that manager Kevin Watson (pictured), who celebrated the birth of a baby daughter this week, should have a fully-fit squad to choose from – but was unsure whether he would pick himself for the second straight week.
