Cineworld is expecting to welcome customers back to its cinemas in July.

The company, which has three outlets in Kent, including Rochester, Ashford and Dover, is anticipating lockdown restrictions for cinemas to be lifted by then.

Cineworld at Dover closed its doors to prevent Covid-19 spreading

A spokesman for the chain said: "Subject to this and confirmation of the schedule for film releases, Cineworld anticipates the reopening of all of its cinemas in July.

"We have put in place procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable cinema experience for employees and customers.

"Cineworld is excited by the great movie line up to follow the reopening of cinemas, starting with the highly-anticipated new Chris Nolan movie Tenet and immediately after that with Mulan, a new Disney adventure movie.

"Cineworld, as always, greatly believes in the theatrical experience and is fully committed to be the best place to watch a movie."

The cinema chain closed in March due to the coronavirus outbreak and made a U-turn on its decision to lay-off workers in its Kent branches.
