Medway City Estate Co-op closed due to fuel spillage

A Co-op has been closed after a fuel spillage from a van.

The incident occurred this morning at the store on Anthony's Way, Rochester, near the Medway City Estate, after a customer tried to jump-start their van.

As they were leaving, the van's tank started to leak outside of the Co-op.

Police have been on site this morning, and the shop has been shut off and closed due to health and safety reasons.

The Co-op do not yet know when they will be re-opening

A cleaning company have been called to the site.

Shop staff say they do not know when they will be able to open until the cleaning team has attended and assessed the situation.
