Co-op shop in Lordswood to close and be replaced by a Costcutter

A Co-op store is due to close next month.

Lordswood’s Co-operative Food will shut up shop for the last time on Wednesday, August 13.

Costcutter, which has acquired the premises in Kestrel Road, will open there instead.

A spokesperson for the Co-op said: “All members staff currently employed at the store will transfer to the new owners, with their terms and conditions of employment maintained.

"Staff at the store have been informed of the decision.

“We are pleased to have concluded a deal which ensures continued employment for staff, and a continued service for the local community, and we would also like to thank the store team for their hard work, and our shoppers for their valued custom over the years.”
