A pair of county line dealers have been jailed after they were found to be supplying crack cocaine and heroin in west Kent.

Syrus Ramsey was stopped and searched by police on the A21 near Bromley - during which officers found class A drugs and a mobile phone.

Police raided his home where Connor McMaster, from Chatham, was seen throwing a mobile phone into a garden - which was found to be one of those used to supply drugs.

The duo have since been jailed for a total of almost seven years.

Police found a criminal gang from south east London was responsible for dealing class A drugs, using dedicated mobile phones known as the ‘Aaron line’.

The drugs were advertised for sale on a daily basis via bulk texts to which purchasers responded with an order specifying what they were seeking to buy.

Ramsey was stopped in his vehicle on the A21 near Bromley on October 8 last year. When he was searched, officers located 34 deals of crack cocaine, 26 deals of heroin and a mobile phone.

He was arrested and a search of his home address in Parkfield Way, Bromley, Greater London led to the seizure of £850 in cash and 12 further deals of crack cocaine and heroin.

McMaster was arrested on the same day at his home address in Luton Road, Chatham.

He admitted throwing a mobile phone into a neighbouring garden when he saw patrols arriving. This was recovered and identified as one of those used to supply drugs.

Both men were charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine between April 6 and October 8 last year.

They pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and on Friday where Ramsey, 27, was jailed for three years and six months. This included six months for breaching a suspended sentence.

McMaster, also aged 27, received a total of three years and four months' imprisonment.

Investigating officer, PC Charles Turner, said: "The seized drugs had an estimated street value of approximately £1,440, and these criminals undoubtedly made a significant amount of money before they were arrested.

"The dealing of class A drugs causes untold harm to users, their families and the wider community.

"We are determined to tackle these organised criminals and this pair were tracked down in spite of their efforts to remain anonymous by using mobile phone texts to ply their trade. It is quite right they are now behind bars."
