"Officers are in attendance alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and traffic is currently being held to ensure public safety."

A fire service spokesman said three crews attended and used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof the vehicle and rescue one man.

He was taken into the care of paramedics but it has not been confirmed whether they suffered serious injuries.

The road reopened shortly after 11am.
