Crash on the A2 Sovereign Boulevard in Gillingham

A pedestrian has been flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Gillingham.
Police officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the accident, which happened on the A2 at Sovereign Boulevard at around 12.55pm.
A spokesman said: "A red Toyota Aygo was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, who was crossing the road close to the junction with Rotary Gardens.
"The pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance, where he is currently being treated for life threatening injuries.
"The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with injuries which are not believed to be serious."
The road was initially closed at the roundabout leading to Gillingham Business Park, near the Brewers Fayre pub and the Premier Inn, causing long delays.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses who they have not yet spoken to, to get in touch.
