Emergency services were called to a car fire on the M2 early today.

The incident happened at around 1am on the London-bound carriageway near junction two.

Police closed the lanes while fire crews from Strood and Gravesend extinguished the blaze.

The Ford Focus estate was completely burnt out but no one was injured.

An electrical fault is believed to be the cause.
