Firefighters were called after a blaze broke out in a tugboat at Chatham Docks this afternoon.
Crews were called just after 1.20pm and used a thermal imaging camera to identify the seat of fire within a contained compartment of the boat, which was in a dry dock.
They used cold-cutting fire-fighting equipment and compressed air foam to penetrate the compartment and extinguish the fire.
Crews remained on the scene this afternoon cutting away and damping down remaining hotspots.
There were no reported injures and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
