Actor Danny Dyer will be playing in a celebrity football match to raise money for a Kent charity.

It is the second time the former EastEnders star has been involved and appeared in the line-up for Chatham Town FC.

Last September, the actor announced he would join a special match organised by firm Sellebrity Soccer.

In a video posted by Chatham Town FC on X, formerly known as Twitter, the star encouraged people to buy tickets to help raise money for Chatham-based charity TBCD - A Life For Leo Foundation.

“Hello, you wonderful, wonderful people,” he said. “I am playing this Sunday at Chatham Town FC for a family whose little boy needs life-saving treatment.

“It is a really tragic story. I want to try and raise some money. Come down, click the link, and get your tickets.

“I cannot wait to meet you all. It is going to be an amazing day.”

The club has revealed that he would be getting involved with the charity match again.

He will be joined by EastEnders stars Ricky Groves and Bleu Landau, plus actors Dean Gaffney and Matt Lapinskas.

Ricky said: “It’s all about the local charities

“I like the fact that people that go to the football that might not necessarily go come along to see their favourite celebrities and think ‘it’s only round the corner, why don’t we come here more often?’

“It’s getting more expensive to get into the bigger clubs, so support your local football team.”

Reality stars Dan Osborne from The Only Way Is Essex, as well as Ouzy See and Billy Brown from Love Island, are also in the line-up.

This time, they will be raising money for the Folkestone-based charity Red Eagle Foundation.

It was set up to empower disadvantaged children who have mobility, mental health and learning difficulties.

A spokesman said: “The Red Eagle Foundation are thrilled to be working with Sellebrity Soccer to put on this charity match at Chatham Town FC.

“Our charity helps disabled, disadvantaged and terminally ill children in Kent.

“With applications at an all-time high, we are hoping that lots of people from Kent turn up to watch stars such as Danny Dyer play.

“All of us at the foundation really appreciate the support of all the celebrities playing.”

The event will be held at the Bauvill Stadium on Maidstone Road on Sunday, April 7.

Kick-off is at 6.30pm, with the game finishing at around 9.30pm.
