The parents of a teenager who died suddenly have revealed that his heart has been used to give a desperately ill father a chance of life.

Darryl Bell

Darryl Bell, of Cooling Road, Frindsbury, told his family that he would like his organs to be donated to others if anything happened to him.

His mum and dad, Sam and Dave, fulfilled their son’s wishes after the talented musician and artist died of a brain haemorrhage.

Now, as the family prepare for their first Christmas without Darryl, 18, they have been told that his organs have been used to help four people.

Sam said: “We do get a lot of comfort from that, especially on learning that a father of two, who desperately needed a heart, and might not have made it to Christmas, is now getting a new lease of life.

“We are pleased that his children can now have their dad around, especially for Christmas.”

Dave added: “It’s amazing that someone has been given the gift of life because of Darryl.”
