Drivers are faced with major delays after two crashes on the M2 and A2.

The London bound carriageway was blocked for nearly an hour between junction 5 for the A249 at Sittingbourne and junction 4 for the A278 at Gillingham after a collision between two cars.

Meanwhile, further down the road, the A2 was also blocked London bound after a crash between a car and a motorbike.

It happened shortly before 8.30am between the exit for the M25 and the jucntion for the A2018 Dartford Heath.

Traffic has since been released at both incidents.

Delays remain on the M2 but the A2 has cleared.

On the M2, there are also queues being reported on the opposite carriageway, due to onlookers.

Police are on the scene. A spokesman confirmed there were no serious injuries on the M2.

On the A2, one person was taken to a local hospital after the accident.

Recovery for the bike has been arranged.
