Police seize suspected XL Bully after man injured in Invicta Drive, Hoo

Police are investigating after a man was bitten by a dog suspected to be an XL Bully type.

Officers were called to a private address on a new housing development at around 12.40pm on Sunday.

It followed reports an individual was injured while trying to separate a fight between two canines.

The incident happened at a home in Invicta Drive, Hoo, and both dogs were seized by the force.

A police spokesman said: “The victim, who owned one of the animals, was treated for bites by paramedics.

“Inquiries are underway into the circumstances.”

On December 31 it became an offence for any person to sell, abandon, give away, or breed an XL Bully, as well as have it in a public space without a lead or muzzle.

Last Thursday (February 1) it became a criminal offence to own an XL Bully dog in England and Wales unless you have a certificate of exemption.
