A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after crashing her car into a telegraph pole.
The female driver, who has not been named, suffered minor injuries after her car ploughed into the post in Walderslade Road, Chatham, late last night.
The collision snapped the pole in half and left another car with damage.
The smash happened at about 11.15pm and paramedics, police and fire crews were sent to the scene.
As these pictures taken by Patrick Burgess show, the smash also caused some damage to a nearby property.
Mr Burgess said emergency crews were on the scene very quickly.
It is understood the woman, who is still in hospital, was later arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
No children were in the car at the time of the collision.
The garden wall was reduced to rubble and the dark Ford Focus suffered severe damage.
A spokesman for police said: “Kent Police was called at 11.14pm on Sunday, July 2, to a collision between two cars in Walderslade Road, Chatham.
"Officers attended the scene alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
"A woman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.”
