A pair of drug dealers have been locked up after police spotted a deal taking place in the middle of the day just yards from their home.
Officers on patrol in Chatham saw the exchange happening in an alleyway and searched Matthew Bray.
Money was found on his person and officers were set to carry out a search at his home address.
As they arrived they saw Donna Bartlett leaving the property.
She was found in possession two mobile phones, one of which contained several messages relating to drug deals.
Police searched the pair's home finding a quantity of money as well as 40 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, which was found inside a pouch.
During the search a further parcel was also found which contained 150 wraps of the same Class A drugs.
Both were arrested at the scene following the searches when a deal between Bray and a known drug user was seen taking place in an alleyway near Constitution Road at 1.40pm on September 21.
Bray, 43, and Bartlett, 37, both of Constitution Road, were each jailed for two years and eight months on Tuesday following a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.
The pair admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
Bartlett also pleaded guilty possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
Investigating officer PC Luke Murray said: "Bartlett agreed to sell drugs to known drug users and encouraged Bray to assist her.
"Both have admitted their criminality and despite showing remorse for their actions, they will now quite rightly serve a custodial sentence and I hope this outcome acts as deterrent to others."
