Two charged after burglary in Davenport Avenue, Gillingham

Two men who were arrested at the scene of a suspected break-in have been charged with burglary.

Police found Jamie Stanford, of Chelmar Road, Chatham and Roy Iliffe, 39, of no fixed address, at a property in Davenport Avenue, Gillingham, on Monday, January 20, at around 6.45pm.

The door to the house was forced open and a laptop, speakers and bank card were stolen.

Both men were charged with burglary while Stanford, 32, was also charged with possessing a knife.

The duo appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and were remanded in custody.

Their next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
