A council has initiated its emergency protocol as temperatures are set to plummet.
Medway Council has announced that its Severe Weather Emergency Protocol is in place across the towns to help provide temporary accommodation for rough sleepers.
With temperatures expected to hit below freezing across the weekend, the council will be providing somewhere warm for the homeless to stay.
The mercury is expected to fall to -2C overnight on Saturday into Sunday in Rochester.
People in need are encouraged to visit Kingsley House in Balmoral Road, Gillingham today before 4.45pm to be directed to emergency accommodation.
The accomodation will be provided all of this weekend.
Throughout the year, the public can access specialist support at Kingsley House on the issues which can cause people to become homeless, such as debt and rent arrears.
The council also commissions a range of support to help those who find themselves with nowhere to live.
Rough sleepers who are unable to get to Kinglsey House today can still be provided with emergency accommodation if they call the council's out of hours homelessness service on 01634 304400.
