Emergency services called to reports man has fallen into River Medway near Rochester

Emergency services descended on a river after reports a man had fallen in.

The incident happened this afternoon near Rochester.

A man has reportedly fallen in the River Medway near Rochester

Police say they were called shortly before 1.30pm after concerns were raised.

A spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 1.21pm to concerns for the welfare of a man reported to have fallen in the River Medway near Rochester.

“Officers, HM Coastguard and the South East Coast Ambulance Service are currently at the scene.”

Police later confirmed a man had been taken to hospital.
