Comedic gymnastics commentary to a routine by Olympics star Max Whitlock is sweeping across the internet with more than 3.5 million views.

The alternative calling of the performance on the "curtain rails" by Kent comic Joe Tracini has even attracted attention from the Team GB gymnast.

The 33-year-old, whose father is Joe Pasquale, used a variety of completely random bunches of phrases leaving Whitlock and his teammates incredibly amused.

The double Olympic champion in Rio was competing in the qualification for the high bar final in Tokyo on Saturday when Tracini decided to give his view of the sport.

His insight including terms of hunting for the illusive "full colon" dismount shows him then call the "folding like a crepe" and "quilted wrists" move.

In one somewhat serious moment of the 48-second commentary, Tracini refers to Whitlock's "fantastic composure" before following a split-second later referring to that coming "on the dingus" and leading into the "eskimo in a kayak".

The former Hollyoaks actor, who has appeared in panto in Chatham, grew up in Higham and went to school at King's Rochester before attending drama school.

He goes on to praise Whitlock's "buttery palms" before the dulcet commentary tones are brought to an excited crescendo as he gets the final "full colon" he was after.

Replying to the post on Twitter, athlete Whitlock said the post was "brilliant" before leaving a laughing face and applauding emoji.

Tracini said back: "Thank you actual Max Whitlock. You're amazing mate, good luck over there."

The 28-year-old gymnast, who yesterday finished fourth in the team competition alongside Maidstone's James Hall and Gravesend's Giarnni Regini-Moran, replied again saying: "Showed the whole team, everyone loves it!! Thank you."

Tracini played Dennis Savage in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks appearing in 165 episodes between 2011 and 2018.

His tweet has been shared more than 13,500 times and hundreds of people commenting saying how much they had enjoyed and "needed this today".
