Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre blighted by fallen trees

By: Matt Whale

Published: 11:10, 24 January 2018

The inbound road to Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre on Sharsted Way was today blocked by a fallen tree.

A driver moving in the opposite direction called the obstruction 'just passable'.

The road way closed whilst work was taken to clear the blockage.

The fallen tree has blocked a portion of the road.

Reports have also shown that a second tree has fallen in the area, on Hempstead Valley Drive.

Robert Andrew Williams, 22, who lives in Mulberry Close, said that it is causing massive queues because the close is the only place to turn around.

Police have now confirmed that Sharsted way has been reopened.

Medway Council have also confirmed that both roads are now clear and open as usual.
