The family of a biker seriously injured in an accident last weekend have made a personal appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The rider from Chatham is currently in an induced coma in King’s College Hospital, London, after he suffered spinal injuries, brain injuries and fractures to his right arm.

The accident happened in Berwick Way, Strood, on Sunday, at around 4.25pm. His bike hit the road’s central reservation.

The 52-year-old procurement manager with Bells Power Control Systems had only returned from a delayed honeymoon with his wife in Mauritius the day before and was out for a pleasure ride on his black BMW.

His daughter said: “Our dad is kindhearted and has taken on our family after meeting our mum.

“We are so grateful for the joy he brings our mum and how happy he has made her, especially when they married last year.

“Their first anniversary is coming up this month.”

“He has three children, four grandchildren and a loving wife waiting to find out if he will be okay and we are all desperate to know how the incident occurred.

“If anyone has any information at all we urge you to come forward to the police so that we can have some closure on how our poor dad has been involved in this serious accident.

Officers from the police’s serious collision investigation unit are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward or anyone who may have caught images of the biker on their dashcam.
