An electrical fault may have caused a fire in an extractor fan in a bathroom of a home in Strood earlier this morning.

Firefighters from the town were called out to a house in Chestnut Road, at about 5.50am after the fan burst into flames.

The people who live in the property were able to get out without suffering any injury and the fire crew said the fire was out by the time they arrived.
