Firefighters tackle barn alight in Old Church Road, Burham

A barn containing 400 tonnes of hay bales went up in flames this morning.

Two crews were called to Old Church Road, Burham at 4.53am.

The roof of the barn was also alight. Two fire engines attended, and this was reduced to one fire engine at 5.30am.

Kent Police also attended. The cause is not yet known.

Firefighters also tackled a car blaze in Seymour Road, Chatham at 12.50am this morning. The put out the fire in half an hour. The police were called.

A crew then put out a small electrical fire in the boiler room at Frindsbury Hall Care Home, Frindsbury Hill.

They were called at 5.50am and nobody was hurt in the blaze.
