Crews attended the property at 5.25pm wearing breathing apparatus and used a high-pressure hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. They also used a positive pressure ventilation fan in their rescue.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but it is believed to have started after the room's curtains caught alight.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said there was no reported injuries and everyone was accounted for.
