Flooding at Angel Corner

A big storm which hit Medway led to flooding in some parts of the Towns.
Several roads in Strood resembled rivers after they became awash with water when the heavens opened.
Streets which became flooded included Darnley Road, parts of Cuxton Road, Strood High Street, Alma Place and Smith Street.

Firefighters were called out to assist one homeowner in Smith Street, Strood, after the back garden became flooded.
Crews from Strood used poles to unblock drains to allow the water to flow away.
Police received several calls from concerned motorists reporting incidents, including open manhole covers in Dock Road, Chatham.
Most of the reports of flooding were dealt with by the highway team from Medway Council.
