A 21-year-old man is due to appear before Medway Magistrates today after a serious assault on a man in Gillingham at the weekend.

Ruben White, of Kingswood Road, Gillingham has been charged with grevious bodily harm.

Three other men arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further investigation.

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Gillingham.

It comes after officers were called to Balmoral Road at 8.20am on Saturday to find a 35-year-old man had been assaulted.

The victim remains in intensive care at Medway Maritime suffering from head injuries.
