Four men in court after homes in Vale Drive, Chatham, and Ashcroft Road in Wainscott burgled

Four men have been charged with burglary after being seen "acting suspiciously" near the scene of the crime.

Police were patrolling in Vale Drive, Chatham, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 30, when they noticed three men acting odd as they walked towards a parked BMW X5.

The officers later discovered a property in the road had been broken into and the men were arrested nearby. A fourth suspect, who had been inside the BMW, which left the scene and was found in Secretan Road, Rochester, was later detained.

All four were charged with burglary and appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday. (Thurs Dec 2)

They were further charged in connection with a second burglary at an address in Ashcroft Road, Wainscott, which also happened on November 30.

William Cassidy, 43, of Voisin Close, Hoo was remanded by the court into custody, while conditional bail was granted to Patrick Cassidy, 36, of Greenway, Pinner, Middlesex; Patrick Cassidy, 30, of Wallman Place, Haringey, London; and John Corcoran, 33, from Lynton Close, Brent, Greater London.

They will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, January 6.
