Four-year-old boy taken to Medway Maritime Hospital after being struck by car in Knights Road, Hoo

A small boy has been taken to hospital suffering a head injury after being hit by a car in Hoo this afternoon.

The lad, who is four and has not been named, was struck by the vehicle in Knights Road in the village shortly after 3pm.

The Kent Air Ambulance was called to the scene after the child was injured but he was deemed well enough to be taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham.

He was accompanied by the air ambulance doctor.

Police were also sent to the scene, a spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 3.20pm following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Knights Road, Hoo.

"The pedestrian – a four-year-old boy – was not seriously hurt but was taken to a local hospital as a precaution."
